Question by jesswzmn: Are we nearing the republican dream for the USA?
The economy is melting faster than wax. Americans are losing their homes. Vacant homes help the rising crime rate. Half of high school students in our schools are graduating. No jobs for them due to outsourcing of jobs overseas and HB1 imports of slave laborers from Asia..in addition to illegal aliens taking millions of jobs and depressing wages. Health care is unaffordable for millions who have jobs. Inflation is pushing food prices higher. Gasoline is creeping towards $ 4.00 a gallon. $ 12 billions dollars a month is being spent on the Iraq occupation. Budget deficits are still at record levels. Our trade deficits are at record levels. Now we hear that prisons cant afford to keep all the jailed people in jails so millions of violent criminals are set to be released earlier than they should.

But the number of millionaires is rising and many big corporations are and have been at record profit levels..and CEOs are raking in ungodly sums in their compensation packages.
The govt has ordered tortures and renditions and spies without cause on citizens, and even has a govt propaganda TV news network.

Now Bush wants to throw press members in jail for not divulging who their sources are in whistle blowing cases.

Whats next? Blackwater patrolling our streets with orders to ……..??
is it a coincidence that after 7 years of the most extreme right wing ideology president who had the benefit of rubber stamp GOP congress for 6 of those 7 years that we have this perfect storm?

The economy is not melting “faster than wax” so the very first sentence in your question is false. Our trade deficits have been at record levels for the last 2 decades. Inflation is well under what we’ve experience in the last 30 years. Illegal immigration is supported mostly by liberals and Democrats. The H1B program is, as you point out, one of the most fraud ridden programs in America and designed to import cheap foreign scab labor. Outsourcing is occurring in all industrialized nations, not just the US. As long as people demand cheap goods and services, foreign imports will continue to destroy manufacturing jobs.
