Q&A: Don’t you think that Pres. Bush will be regarded one day as the greatest president the USA has ever had?
Question by elcid403b: Don’t you think that Pres. Bush will be regarded one day as the greatest president the USA has ever had?
From the beginning of our country, every US President has lied; especially war time presidents. From Roosevelts illegal manipulation of the Supreme Court to Lincoln’s untrue emancipation proclamation. The first casuality of war and pre-war is the truth. An establishment of a democratic Iraq pursued by Bush is for sure a brilliant statesman’s move for thousands of reasons. One of the main ones is not only a more stable Middle East that can better control and help irradicate these silly cowardly terrorists, but also it stifles the threat of China becoming the next fascist Superpwer by helping to control the weapons trade and the flow of oil which is still the world’s trump card.
Has any responders actually studied US and World History….Roosevelet was the worst criminal this country has EVER had. He totally changed the Supreme Court to serve his own agenda. He was not merely a criminal, he committed treason against the USA.,but where are the posthumanus insults..Bush has and is doing more for the Middle East in particular than any other president in American Hisotry. ie. womens’ rights, freedom, education for all,and the basic natural rights of man. And Bush hurting the Middle East, did you ever hear of the word “crusades.” Has anybody watched the childrens cartoon heroes that glorify hom.\bombers. I agree, don’t watch the news, read primary historical sources; especially during wartime and place current events side by side for a proper eval.Bush has been to the mt.top, lonely as it may be, but the life of a statesman is a lonely one. By the way,Q-Bay does not even come close to the Union consentration camps. HYPOCRCACY!

No. He is by far the worst president in history. He has done nothing to benefit anyone but himself. He is a liar and the Middle East is FAR from being stable.

He is undoubtedly the worst. We have the least stable middle east in history we are now at war with a religion, a war that can never be won by a country. His financial policies are crippling. The continued outsourcing of jobs and the rampid spending on credit will do to us what happened to the Soviet Union. Ten years from now when people are talking about what happened to destroy the United States the Name that will be said time and time again will be George Walker Bush.

It won’t ever happen.

No, I think the perception of his presidency will be much like his popularity in the polls while in office. The truth tends to come out; more people now are aware of the fact that Lincoln did not act because of slavery, Grant was corrupt, McKinley had no business engaging in the Spanish-American war and so on.
I suspect that the perception of Bush will be no different from the perception of PNAC and it’s members, which are rather unique in terms of presidential histories. How many presidents implemented the agenda, part and parcel, of a special interest group in the past? I think that will become more known as time goes on, and when the agenda backfires (as it inevitably will) it will discredit the whole bunch.
***EDIT***
Iraq, under Saddam Hussein, already provided for womens’ rights, freedom, education for all,and the basic natural rights of man. It was also a functional democracy – with one exception in each case; Hussein could not be removed by vote, and he was not hesitant to execute his political rivals.
Bush is not providing ANYTHING that wasn’t already there, and the actions of he and his father have destroyed the infrastructure of the country to the point that it will take decades, if ever, to achieve the same level of prosperity, education, and equal rights. The latter is gravely in doubt because of the inclusion of Islam in their Constitution.
The ONLY thing Bush accomplished or provided was the removal of Hussein – and the legality of doing so can be easily questioned.

I am sorry, I must have missed the news reports about the stability in the middle east.
Every channel I watch, and every article I read, tells of deteriorating security conditions in the Middle East.
Some reports express concern over the beginning of world war 3.
How does history regard the guy that started the last world war?

It is conceivable that in an Orwellian scenario, a totalitarian US government, disguising itself as democratic, might elevate poor george to a heroic stature. If this does not come to pass and sanity prevails, it appears that george is destined for the very bottom of the pile.

Well if it is the case, what does it say about the others! If it is all the greatness you can come up with, may be you should consider electing your garden’s gnome, there could be an improvement. On the other hand, may be the future generations would have to go through compulsory lobotomy and that could explain the poor judgment.

Actually I think it will be Clinton.

No. He’s the worst president in 100 years. And what democratic Iraq? More sectarian killings, more corruption. Give me a break, please. When he leaves office in 2009 and the books about what really happened and how the intel was molded into his vision of the truth come out, he will be forever shamed.

Well G W Bush is definitely a mess among men.
First convicted criminal elected to the White House;
First Military deserter to be elected Commander in Chief;
First man to use family connections to disenfranchise voters in Florida;
First Presidency to be run by the VICE Presidency;
First man with verifiable business connections to International Terrorism;
First President to disregard the will of the people;
First President to resist an independent commission investigating the biggest tragedy of his Presidency: The WTC and Pentagon Attacks; Not only did he oppose the commission, he refused to testify to it under oath;
First President to lose almost his entire cabinet, due to resignation (I guess even some neo cons cant take the lies) or scandal;
First President to accept campaign contributions from bankers of known and suspected terrorist groups;
He will be remembered alright: But if you want to see THIS Presidents face, better look on Wanted Posters, rather than a coin or dollar bill.

President Bush is a wise man he knows what he is doing. I am sure he will prove to us that this war was worth fighting.. Don’t forget 9/11 and all the men and women who passed. That’s why we are at war.. I will not be surprised when all the Bush haters are proven wrong…
