WE need to say out of all of these foreign affairs.
Who cares what the Chinese are doing. Everything is not our problem.

I’m not an economist, but it seems to me that that bringing down the US economy in this fashion would be just as detrimental to the Chinese. Who would buy their exports?

American business investment in China stops, pulls out and leaves them without ability to run an economy. Imports stop and most favored nation status is sacrificed.China can go back to MAO and try to live off other foreign currencies. Back to good old Chinese communism, Makes the students happy.

I actually do not think that will happen.

Thanks be to the REPUBLICAN PARTY. That needs LOWER taxes while at the same time BORROW & SPEND like a drunken sailor.
Then even with the facts facing them they still talk that the DEMOCRATS ARE AWFUL BLEEDING HEARTS because we ARE FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE and you must pay as you go along.
But now we have a crisis for a few lousy dollars a month. That because of the republicans you don’t have a job, savings, pensions, dollar is weak, China owns us, we are in a war that did not benefit US A DAM BIT.
How greedy & selfish can a group of ppl be? Of course I do know that this characteristic does not allow a person to see down the road but DAM. IS IT TRULY inbreeding that is causeing this stupidity.

why do you think china is allowed to import all the toxins in food, toys and everything they ship here and what does the gov, do. Nothing, just let the shipments keep coming. We cannot afford to get them upset that’s where the money is.
oh i wanted to remark on limbaugh. why are you giving him trouble with his addiction to pain meds, your savior used crack and do you know for sure he still doesn’t . oh he said so? he has said alot of things that are lies. and he smokes. Not a big deal? he is suppose to be setting an example since the gov, is fighting the tobocco companies. not a good thing for teens to know he smokes.they are easily influenced.

The President-elect has appointed many sharp people to fill many post in the new government. I do no think he will try to force China into anything. His focus will be at home to improve a faltering economy.

On the other hand, if we repudiated our debt to China, they might get angry enough to stop selling us shoddy slave made goods, poisoned toys, food and medicine. Not to mention bootleg copies of every American Made movie.
They might even get mad enough to stop stealing our jobs. And since most of the trade deficit is going into a Chinese Military Buildup, any economic woes that caused wouldn’t affect the World Community all that much since China only imports raw materials. The OPEC nations would be hardest hit and who cares?
They could launch a few nukes from their ports at Los Angeles and Long Beach, but our retaliation would solve their Population Problem.
Bad for US credit, but spending more than we have is what got us into this mess, and it’s certainly a better idea than the Republican Solution of shutting down Social Security–which is one of the few things keeping dollars in circulation.
Trade Laws that DON”T put US Companies and Workers at a disadvantage, don’t encourage exploiting the poor of other nations, and which protect American Companies’ Intellectual Property are long overdue.

right now the usa is having some very toughs times and they will get alot better in the next 1 – 2 years. if anyone thinks that 1 trillion dollars will sink the usa then you do not have a clue about what you are saying. so far that moron bush has sunk approx 1 trillion dollars in that stupid war that no one will ever win in iraq. has that sunk the usa’s economy? no it hasn’t. because of the crooks in the american banking system the american government has given almost 1 trillion dollars to help them. has that sunk the american economy. NO IT HASN”T. further more if the usa threatens to pose economic sanctions on china they would clean things up. most of the things made world wide are from china what we have to do in Canada and the usa is stop buying all of this chinese made garbage and tell companies like wal mart and home depot that they must buy north american made goods like the promised years ago that they would do. if anyone thinks that obama is not going to do a great job in the usa give him some time. look at what that douche bag bush left him with. he is going to be an amazing president.

you could disagree with me but i don’t think China will ever overpower the US
their class difference is too great

And how can we pay the 1 trillion dollar debt when we only have about $ 850,000,000,000 in circulation? Not to mention the other $ 8,000,000,000,000 we need to pay off sometime soon.

The problem is people.

China was a barter economy for many years. Maybe we could work out a deal whereby we ship them Fords, GMs and Chryslers and let them drive decent cars for a change. The Fed could arbitrage the exchange rate on the goods and make a few interest points and everyone will be happy.
Our economies are very intertwined. They’re afraid that if we have a tiff with each other, all those ‘patriotic’ Palin WalMart moms won’t have a place to buy cheapass Chinese crap. What a shame THAT would be.
Nah.

I have no doubt that Obama would love nothing more than to see the US in flames.
