Didn’t Obama promise to renegotiate the trade agreements?
Question by tacotorch: Didn’t Obama promise to renegotiate the trade agreements?
The trade agreements must be redone if jobs are going to come back to the USA, first off the agreements are design for the big corporations and foreign countries to benefit while average Joe is knocked out of a job, really the ones who did this to us should be regarded as traitors, do you know we can ship nothing to China or India as well as others, except for high tech stuff they can’t make which is very little, our companies are allowed to build factories there and sell domestically plus ship here and elsewhere but not from the USA to there, and then there is the exchange rate which makes our products unaffordable there, really the trade agreements are just big job destroying plans that make the multinational corp’s super rich or their executive branch I should say, these plans are bad for America and hurt our middle class, the ones who work and pay taxes and spend and keep the economy going, the trade agreements are a attack on them, why do we tolerate this?

Which trade agreements? Your question is too vague. He has already been negotiating with China.
According to this http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/feb/19/barack-obama-stephen-harper-canada-visit he’s also discussing adding environemental regulations to NAFTA. That counts as renegotiating NAFTA.

I think you are talking about the N.A.F.T.A (North American Free Trade Agreement) and the G.A.N.T (Asian free trade agreements) which were signed into law by President William Jefferson Rodham Clinton within a short time after he took office.
These treaties are the ones that basically pulled the plug on the American Working man and sent our jobs over seas to mexico, Asia and other areas. There was such rapid exodus of jobs to overseas that a huge swirling sound was made, almost like the flushing of a toilet.
There will only be “lip service” given to reconsidering these treaties for political propaganda. These treaties are critically important to the socialist agenda of our current government. Socialism cannot exist with a healthy and growing middle class. Therefore the middle class American will continue to be financially assaulted until it no longer exists.
